“Staying at Valdimar's home was such a special experience that our family will never forget. The house is small and cozy and exactly what we needed for our family of 5. The view from every room in the house and from the back deck was absolutely breathtaking. Coming from NYC, it was such a treat to have morning coffee while staring at the distance, admiring mountains, Mt. Hekla, and the steaming Ölfusá River. On clear nights the stars were something else! We even were treated to a brief Northern Lights sighting, which was unexpected in August. The whole property is just so serene, which is exactly what I was hoping for. We loved the location - remote, but near so many Golden Circle highlights. We were lucky enough to meet Valdimar and his daughter, which was a wonderful bonus. They were so welcoming and warm and it was so nice to hear more about Iceland through their eyes. I feel so lucky that Valdimar and his family generously opened their home to us and I hope we can host them in NYC. This was a truly unforgettable experience.”
