“What a great swap. The house is immaculate, super comfortable and extremely well equipped with a great pool, jacuzzi and a garden that our boys enjoyed playing in. Zena was incredibly communicative both before and during our swap. She had lots of wonderful recommendations for restaurants, activities and sightseeing. She even arranged a driver to meet us at the airport and to have our first evening catered ( a Bajan feast that arrived at the house shortly after we did). This was our first trip to Barbados and we would definitely go again. The island is beautiful, the people warm and welcoming and the whole atmosphere wonderfully relaxed. The area where Zena and Irvin live is located on the rugged part of the island, it’s less built up and the beaches are breathtaking, there are several within walking distance of the house and the world famous Crane beach is just a few minutes away by car. As the island is quite small, there are many swimming beaches within an easy driving distance. We particularly liked Bath Beach and Pebbles. There is something for everyone in terms of activities. Our family enjoyed golf on the 9 hole course at Sandy Lane, horse riding on the beach with Ocean Echo Stables, horse races at The Garrison, fishing with Reel Crazy, surfing with Bodie’s surf school and an amazing early morning turtle tour with Cliffsharker. There are also all kinds of dining options from simple and delicious street food ( fish cutters at Cuz’s), excellent local restaurants such as Cutters and Marco Polo,to high end beach dining at Lone Star and the magical setting of The Cliffs. Everything about the island, the property and the swappers was fantastic and Zena and Irvin were excellent guests at our home. Thank you both so much for a wonderful exchange.”
