“House is in bad condition. No air conditioning. There is no glass on the windows. There is a mosquitoes net that must protect, but the holes are so big and so often, that we spent 2 weeks without turning on the light AT ALL IN THE HOUSE, and still the mosquitoes were biting non stop. In the house of 2 bedrooms you have 12 doors!, on each possible wall you have doors, the house consist of this números doors, with its own key to each one :( that will drive you crazy, try to find the right one among all of them. From 8am till noon there is a woman present in the house, It is a small and poor property, but she is THERE, singing, cleaning the table during the breakfast, watching TV.... The house is not 500 meters from the sea as Alan says, it is 1200 meters, and car is must! The host: I booked this property as 3 different swaps (getting some points I wanted to prolong my summer) so :) we started with 100 points with Alan, we finished with 250, Alan was raising the amount in every each communication. In the reality it does not worth anymore then 50 points. I mean it is a bad property, worth 40 euro per night in Europe. Bad conditions even in Antigua still remain bad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Host Response: "The house is a classic stone and concrete structure with a brand new kitchen new appliances, new automatic generator, new roof, new fencing and gate and is well maintained by a gardener and housekeeper. These were the first guests to use our brand new kitchen. The house is on the windward side of the island and has ceiling fans. We usually sleep with light blankets. We prefer not to have air conditioning so that we can hear the lovely sound of the ocean, tree frogs and crickets. The windows are brand new wooden louvred windows with new screens quite common throughout the Caribbean. We have a mosquito net still in the package; still never used. There are 6 doors (not 12). We generally use two. Each bedroom has a door on the hillside and one on the oceanside giving each bedroom direct access to the ocean view veranda. Each of these doors have deadbolts with keys permanently in the lock. If you or your children remove these keys you may get them mixed up. None of our other guests remove the bedroom keys. Our housekeeper is a favorite of many of our return guests and their children. She does not turn on the television. She will always wait to enter the house until guests are up and will even do your personal laundry and ironing. I never told them how far the house was from the sea, but 500 meters is probably correct if you walk down the hill on the footpath, maybe 700 meters if you drive. We recommend a car and can have you picked up at the airport for no charge. The location of our home on the hill provides us with a 180 degree water view and a more constant sea breeze. This guest changed her dates numerous times. When she moved from October to November the rates changed from 150 to 250 points as I have requests for rentals starting in November. We are booked all season with guests from Europe, Canada and US. Our many return guests pay $250 to $300 per night and return year after year. " ”
