“Our second stay at Chrissie's house was just as wonderful as the first. We discovered some new foodie places (the little alleyway shops near the Co-op are delightful) and once again, the house was perfectly clean, bright and comfortable. Even on days when the weather wasn't brilliant, the living area is large enough to have enough space for people to relax with a book or watch TV without feeling the need to get out. Bute Park is a wonderful place to get some exercise and is beautifully balanced between wild spaces, manicured lawns and play areas. Having it a very short walk away was brilliant for outdoor time with the family when we didn't want to drive anywhere. Chrissie is so welcoming and warm, it is a pleasure to do a swap with her. Highly recommend her as a house swapper.”

“We had a great time at Chrissie's house. The house is very bright, clean and spacious. The garden is beautiful and we spent so much time in the garden just enjoying the sunshine and relaxing, The area is really lovely and trendy, there are lots of nice cafes and restaurants, you have to try Danish bakery, they have amazing pastries! We got addicted to them and visited the bakery every day when we were there. Chrissie is a lovely host. she welcomed us on our arrival and showed us the house. She was so kind to open us her place during the pandemic so that we could visit our family. We had a great experience, thanks Chrissie. ”
“Could not have asked for a better swap for us at the moment. We had not seen our son for 7 months so having Chrissie's house for a long weekend was just perfect. The house is lovely and light. The open plan kitchen dining area opening onto the garden was perfect as we could open the doors and give everyone enough space - plenty of room for 6 people to be there and able to maintain personal space. The hand sanitiser at the front door was a great help. The bedrooms were very comfortable and we had everything we could want - enormous bathroom, lovely big towels. Very welcoming all round. The huge park 5 minutes walk away was a real bonus. We could very easily get out into the fresh air and exercise together. I recommend picking up a bike and going for a cycle down the river in the park. Lots of places to have picnics along the way. We are doing a second swap with Chrissie in August - and we are thoroughly looking forward to going back.”
Where is it?
Pontcanna is a very sought after area of Cardiff. Close to the city centre with excellent restaurants, cafes, cosy pubs and great shops, it is also a very safe area. The house is 20 minutes walk or less from the rugby, cricket and football stadiums so is a dream for sports lovers. Cardiff castle and picturesque Bute Park are a short walk away. In the park you can get a water taxi to Cardiff Bay. Public transport is frequent and good value. Cardiff is a great place from which to explore the delights of South and West Wales.
