Notre maison

Our spacious apartment was built in 2010 in the attic where the hey used to be stored. It is modern architecture combined with the charm of the 110 years old farmhouse. There are two other apartments with other families living in this house. Our Farmhouse is like an oasis in the busy neighbourhood, with a large balcony, a lawn, a fire place, a tree house and many more things to discover.
The house is located in the Suburbs, only 15min away from the main station and the lovely old town of Berne. Berne offers a great atmosphere, especially in summer.

Kitchen/dining:
The open space kitchen is modern and fully equipped with all utensils that you will require. Feel free to make use of the Italian coffee machine. The large dining table can comfortably seat 6.

Sleeping arrangements:
The master bedroom features a double bed and the other 3 bedrooms are singles (two with loft beds). One bedroom is used as an office and to play music (drums, e-piano and guitar). There is a spare mattress available. Please note - maximum capacity of 6 people.
Bathroom:
The bathroom is fitted with a freestanding tub, a shower and one toilet.
Balcony
There is a dining table, a lounge and a barbecue to use on the balcony.

We prefer to swap places with similar interior design. Our apartment appreciates to be treated, as it would be yours.

Restaurants
Berne is packed with a wide range of authentic local and international kitchen. A stone’s throw away form our house (across the main road) there is a gelateria with fantastic ice cream (www.nicecream.ch).
Bars
The best bars are located in the old town of Berne. Some are hidden between the arcades, some in a cellar or with beautiful view on the river Aare and the mountains.
Cafés
My wife and me love to spend time in cafes. We provide you with insider tips of the best cafés in town.
Shopping
Westside is a large shopping mall in near Berne, with cineplex, aquaparc and many more.
Culture
There are many museums in Berne, such as Paul Klee (famous Swiss painter), historic museum, alpine museum or the museum of communication. Or you can visit the federal parliament building and many more places.
Promenades
We recommend a walk on the Gurten (local mountain of Berne) or a stroll along the river Aare. Just 3kms away there is a rose garden with a stunning view on the old town, the river Aare and the mountains.
Exercise/Sport
A 10 minute walk away there is an indoor climbing center. Tennis and squash centers as well as the forest for running are nearby. Swim in summer in the river Are (for good swimmers only). There are plenty of hiking trails on the country side.

With public transport or by car you can easily explore half of Switzerland (e.g. Bernese Highlands, Lucerne or Montreux at the lake of Geneva).
