“I spent a glorious week in Stephanie and Pete's beautiful home during the jazz festival. The flat is spacious, elegantly but comfortaby furnished, and perfectly situated on a slope just below the old town. The view of the lake from the balcony is to die for, and I spent many a memorable morning and evening just soaking in the spectacular scenery before me. There is wonderful hiking nearby, and so many enchanting places to visit within easy reach. And of course the jazz festival....I have raved about my trip to Montreux - and this flat - to my friends, and would happily stay there again. ”

Where is it?
We are situated in a quiet leafy neighbourhood of villas and parks. The old town is just above and behind the house, straddling a gorge and waterfall where you can find the locally acclaimed restaurant du pont perched on the side of the gorge, and a local epicerie, bakers and a coffee shop. An from the terrace you have a view of our beautiful St Vincent church framed by the mountain back drop.
The appartment faces the mountains above the Rhone and Evian, overlooking the lake. The view is absolutely stunning.
The walk to the lake is a quick 3 mins where you can dive in from one of the pontoons, or slip into the water more gracefully if you chose. the water is wonderfully warm in the summer. There is a sailing school 4 misn from the house from where you can rent pedalos, canoes, paddleboards and motor boats.
We are 10 mins walk from the town center which during the first 2 weeks of July hosts the jazz festival (https://www.montreuxjazzfestival.com/en#top), a shopping centre and the local supermarkets.
The mountains surround us, and within 5 mins walk up the hill from the old town you can take the train to Rochers de Naye which offers skiing in the winter and every mountain sport you can think of in the summer. Other resports within easy access by train from the main station are Crans Montana, Leysin, Verbier, Villars, Les Diablerets and Zermat. Getting to these resorts by car is more convenient and quicker of course (in under 40 mins for all except Les Diabelerets and Zermat), plus you can easily reach the Portes de Soleil in 20 mins.
Lausanne is 30 mins away by train or motorway, and there is a direct rain line to Geneva airport.
