Our home is walking distance from old market town of Purmerend.Tuesdays market day is worth a visit,Purmerend has lots of shops,cafes with terraces to watch the world go by on the old cattle market.Close to Purmerend the are a number of interesting places to visit...Volendam,Edam,Monnickendam or Alkmaar.Visit Enkhuizen with its large and beautiful open air museum.The famous Zaanse zaans where you can visit windmills and actually go in one,or visit the Famous Zaanse museum which will tell you all about the life along the river Zaan in by gone days.What about a day on the water in your own hired canoe?
The coast is about half an hour away with its beautiful clean golden beaches.In the surrounding area close to Purmerend are beautiful nature reserves and Parks ideal for bike rides or a picknick.Surrounding areas supply enough things to do and see...see how dutch cheese is made or our special wooden shoes "clogs'
Last but not least a bus route close to the house will bring you in 25 minutes to the beautiful and cosmopolitan city of Amsterdam.Visit all the museums and the highlights Amsterdam has to offer.Including The Rijksmuseum,Van Goghs Art Museum,Anna Franks house.
The children would love a canal boat trip...maybe a trip to Nemo our hands on science museum...Madam Tussards ....peddal boats on the canals bij Westchurch...or our zoo Artis.One of the largest markets in Europe our Albert Cuyp will provide you with all the bargins you need.So all in all my house has a perfect location for a perfect holiday in beautiful North Holland.
