Notre maison

Our lovely house was built in the 1940's. It is on the corner of a row in lively but village like part of Rotterdam, the second city of Holland. Rotterdam is loved for it's modern architecture, international allure, great shops, etc. etc. From Rotterdam it is only 40 minutes by train to Amsterdam and approximately 30 minutes to Delft, Kinderdijk (windmills), Hoek van Holland (beach) and The Hague.

Our house has four bedrooms and two bathrooms; one with bath and shower, one with shower.
A Living room with tv and dvd player. A kitchen with oven, microwave, diswasher, airfryer, nespresso machine and toaster.
We have space for four people (one double bed and two single beds) and a small child.
There is a small garden and four bikes are available.
The house has wifi.

We would love to get in touch!

  1. We love England, books, costume drama's and our daughter Emma.

  2. Matthijs works as a communication officer in Amsterdam. Annedien is a social worker.

  3. Since we arranged a swap for june 2017 we are open for suggestions later this year. Maybe autumn or christmas or a weekend London. In 2018 we would love to go to the Lake District.

Where is it?

Votre Quartier

Rotterdam-Charlois is a former village which became part of Rotterdam in the 19th century. Although it is a quite place, it is only 20 minutes to the city centre. It has an old church with picturesque houses around it (Charloisse Kerksingel). The Gouwstraat has a few nice ateliers.

If you like cycling, you could go to Vreewijk (a typical Dutch workers area from the 1920’s). Or enjoy the view from Charloisse Hoofd (this is where the entrance of the Maastunnel is). A free ferry brings you (Monday – Friday 7 – 10am and 3.30 – 6.30pm) from here to the SS Rotterdam. Have a coffee at this wonderful ship and explore Katendrecht from here, like Deliplein with Fenix Food Factory.

From Katendrecht you can go over the bridge to Wilhelminapier. This is where you find the tallest buildings of Rotterdam. Hotel New York at Kop van Zuid is a great place. Next to the Erasmusbrug is the cruise terminal, the Rotterdam (great building of Rem Koolhaas, try the restaurant, great view) and Luxor Theatre.

Kunsthal, Laurenskerk, Museum Boymans van Beuningen
Just at the end of the street: Zuiderpark (southern park). This is a huge park, great for a walk.
