Notre maison

Our free standing home was completely remodeled in 2011. It features a spacious living, dining and fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 4 if you use a crib, a bathroom with bath and separate shower and 2 separate toilets. We have a sunny and large private garden with swing, trampoline and bbq.
We live a 15 minute bike ride from the beach, and the forest and dunes are only a 5 minute walk away. At the same time we are only a 3 minute walk to public transport with frequent trains to Amsterdam (25 minutes), Haarlem, Utrecht and other cities. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet although we are right in the city center with shops and restaurants literally around the corner.
And of course with the international trains from Amsterdam also Paris (4 hours), Brussels (2.5 hours), London (4.5 hours) and other locations in Europe are great visits from our place.

  1. We are a couple with one daughter (6 years). We love to travel and have seen a lot of the world already! We enjoy going to the beach, running, bbq with friends and other outdoor activities.

  2. Klaas Jan is a teacher and Bianca works for the Economic Department. We lived in San Francisco for 5 years before moving here 4 years ago. We love our friendly neighborhood and proximity to forest, dunes and beach. At the same time we like to go out, to dinner, a movie or visit a museum.

  3. we love to go to go back to San Francisco to visit and also love to go to Canada, especilly BC and Alaska. But we are open to travel anywhere else in the world!

Culture
the archeological museum for Noord Holland is near by, Castricum also features a great nature center (the Hoep) and several small artist studio's. Close to Alkmaar, Amsterdam and Haarlem with musea like Teylers, van Gogh and Rijksmuseum
Promenades
The forest and dunes are a 5 minute walk away, a beautifull sandy beach with nice restaurants and boardwalk is only a 15 minute bike ride away.

Around Castricum you can find all sorts of entertainment and day trips, Amsterdam is only 25 minutes by train to the city center with all its musea, shops and restaurants, the Keukenhoff and flower fields, Zaanse Schans (15 minutes by train), Volendam, attraction parks like Fairy Land or Madurodam, canoing on the lake, sailing on the IJsselmeer, a day at the beach, everything is possible
