Our villa is build in 1939 and totally renovated in 2008 to give it the comfort of today but with the authentic look and feel.
Our spacious home near the dunes and beaches of Bergen at the North Sea coast is surrounded by a large garden of 3000 m2. The garden offers lots of space to relax and play.
Our open plan home has large windows overlooking the garden, the dunes and fields and offers everything you need: lots of space downstairs, with two sitting areas, a large table that seats 6 people and an open plan kitchen with its own dining area. Upstairs you will find four bedrooms (3 kids + 1 adult) and 3 bathrooms.
Nearby, at 1 km, you will find the lively village of Bergen with shops, restaurants, cafes, a small museum for modern art, a cinema and a historical centre. The city of Alkmaar is nearby and offers beautiful old buildings, shops and restaurants. Amsterdam is 50 km by car or 30 minutes by train (from the nearest train station Heiloo or Alkmaar).
Bergen is an artist village and popular among travellers for its seaside beaches and dunes. A few kilometers further north are the villages of Schoorl and Groet, both near enough to walk from Bergen, with the 'Schoorlse Duinen' nature reserve as its main tourist attraction. 5 KM away is Alkmaar is a nice city, known for it's authentic cheese market.
Across the street the dunes start and the beach is just a short bike/car ride away. Directly from our home you can go for long walks or ride your bike. In nearby Schoorl there is a famous and challenging MTB trail across the dunes and woods. Horsebackriding is also possible and beautiful in the divers surroundings.
The typical Dutch 'polder' landscape is just around the corner, offering you small historical towns like Hoorn, De Rijp and Enkhuizen.
As you can read above there is lots to see and do nearby, from relaxing on the beach to sporty outdoor activities, cultural excursions and a lively villages with many shops and restaurants.
