“We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Eline's home in Amsterdam. Eline was fantastic from start to finish, helping us with queries and suggesting ideas for our trip. Flat was a haven, fantastically located and stylishly laid out. We all absolutely loved Amsterdam and can highly recommend! Thank you Eline and family! ”

Notre maison
Newly built ground floor "designer loft" (195 sq mt/2100 sq ft) close to the major museums, unusually spacious, in lively residential area adjacent to the town center. High ceilings, wooden floors, gigantic living room, open kitchen with all amenities, garden, 1 Master Bedroom, 3 smaller bedrooms, bath room with bath tub and separate shower, two toilets, two giant flat screens, underground parking garage, 2 cars, 2 adult bicycles with children seats and children bicycles, .
Amsterdam has a lot to offer. Museums, architecture, film, theater, music, nightlife, clubbing, dining, and simply walking around through its narrow streets, discovering little galleries and shops in the older parts of town, strolling through parks and across markets, looking at the colourful mix of people and styles, and having coffees on sunny terraces. It's lovely to explore Amsterdam on a bike. The city will be of interest to teenagers, too, and also accomodates the needs of smaller children. We can recommend all sorts of day and evening trips once we know what you are looking for - with or without (small or larger) children.
The Netherlands is a small country. We have an additional car that can transport 5 persons and a private indoor parking space. Beaches, forests, farmlands and other historic cities and villages, such as The Hague, Delft, Rotterdam, are all within an hour's drive from Amsterdam.

FR: Eline's reviews
FR: As a host FR: (3)“Eline's home is very well located : easy walking distance to the inner center and very close to a big park where it is great to go and run. The area is welcoming and full of restaurants or supermarkets. We were a family with 4 children and stayed 5 days in Amsterdam. We have really enjoyed our stay and could communicate easily with Tim. The house is just great.”
“We stayed in Tim and Elines wonderful and centrally located home in Amsterdam for five days in May 2018. Everything was in perfect order when we arrived, as was our home, when we got back. The description was accurate and easy to follow. We felt right at home. We lived within walking distance to the Rijks and Van Gogh Museums and to the Jordaan and 9 Streets Districts. Also lots of bars, cafés and shopping nearby. ”

Where is it?
Votre Quartier
Heart of Amsterdam, vibrant neighbourhood, walking distance (< 5 mins) to the main musea (Van Gogh, National and Modern Art) and the Royal Concert Hall, adjacent to the Vondelpark, close to the Leidsesquare and the Jordaan, the canal district, (< 5 mins), plenty of restaurants, bars and shops (and playgrounds) in the area. (google maps does wonders to orient yourself once you’ve arrived safely)
Our house is on the ground floor of a newly built complex which hosts a very good bakery which is open 7 days a week, a wine shop with friendly personnel and good music that has you taste new blends, and an Italian restaurant that opened in summer 2017. Down a block you will find the best coffee of Amsterdam in the Koffiesalon. There are tram stops in our street as well as around the corner from our house that will connect you with the rest of Amsterdam, but the Leidsequare, for instance, which will be one of your important reference points, is only five minutes away on foot (and hosts numerous “bars for tourists” as well as two cinemas). Also the Museumsquare with the most important museums and the PC Hooftstraat, Amsterdam's fanciest shopping street, are at walking distance (5 mins), and the same holds for the Jordaan, the area known for its little canals where all the streets are named after flowers. You could walk around all day through the Jordaan area: there are so many romantic or interesting or magical historical spots.
While our house is located very centrally, it is built on the border of a unique area where the old Amsterdam hospital (Wilhelmina Gasthuis) used to be situated. Back then, hospitals typically consisted of multiple free-standing one- or two-storey buildings, which were added to the complex, one after another, over time, as the population grew. After the hospital was moved outside of the city center in the early 1980s, the laboratories, research institutes and ward-buildings were gradually converted into houses, bars and shops and studios. The area is free of motorised traffic and so (child)friendly and quiet and lovely with old trees and beautiful old buildings.
On the other side of our street you will find the Bosboom Toussaintstraat with its selection of bars and restaurants. At the Toussaint, especially in the spring or summer, you can have a drink or dinner outside on the terrace. There are some really good Italian and Indonesian restaurants in the area, high-quality organic (super)markets and a lot of clothes, shoes, interior design shops and galleries. The Vondelpark is just down the street where you can run or rollerskate or stroll or have coffees or wines in the Blue Tea House.
More things to see:
Museumplein (nearby) has all the good museums: the Rijksmuseum ("the National Museum") and the Stedelijk Museum (the Museum of Modern Art) as well as the
Vincent van Gogh. Check out the Conservatorium Hotel on the Van Baerle straat for a coffee or a lunch.
You can take free boats from the other side of Central Station to cross the IJ. You can take your bicycles on these boats and explore Amsterdam Noord. You will also find the EYE Museum (film museum) there, where you can go see films. The Hermitage on the Amstel is wonderful. And the Albert Cuyp area for a market, and drinks and food.
