Notre maison

This is a holiday home which is often rented in the summer months, but often free early in the season (mid April and May) and later from Mid September which are lively times to visit. The apartment is more likely to be available then, but do ask about other periods are there are sometimes gaps and possibilities..

I'm based in London so i work with a local co-host who will welcome you and show you around the apartment. There would be a €70 charge for the meet and greet and cleaning if we do a points swap rather than direct swap.

Montenegro is simply stunning, with incredibly varied landscapes for such a small country. From towering mountains to vast lakes, ancient forest and a fjord like bay with beautiful waterside towns.

A lovely little apartment in Montenegro’s prettiest bayside village with its Baroque palaces and Venetian defence towers, Perast is one of the prettiest settlements on the Bay of Kotor.

Perched above the village, this simple apartment is just a two-minute walk to the waterfront restaurants. It’s homely and rustic with painted wooden chests, mismatched ceramics and glorious views. Live like a (very lucky) local with early-morning Adriatic dips, seafood chowder lunches on the waterfront and sociable evenings in nearby Kotor’s delightful Old Town

About the apartment:
Living Room: Open plan living area with wooden dresser, sofa and dining area which seats 4 and an oak breakfast bar looking out across the bay. There is a small library of novels and radio / bluetooth speaker for playing your tunes. There is wifi which generally works well.

One double bedroom with views out to the garden patio. Hanging rails for clothes storage. There is a sofa bed in the lounge but this is not great for everyday use. Its tricky to open and close, so the apartment is best suited to a couple, or those happy with a sofa bed situation..

There is a folding baby cot which can be set up for you - though we would recommend you bringing a travel cot since this one takes up a lot of space and is not so easy to use.

Aircon: There is aircon in the bedroom and entrance way and a wall fan in the living area.

Mosaic tiled bathroom with small bath, shower and WC. Mains water pressure is very low, so the apartment uses a water tank and pump to improve pressure, but it still may not be as high pressure as you are used to in other parts of the world!

Kitchen equipped with full size cooker, fridge and washing machine. Plenty of cooking utensils and recipe books.

Other things to note
Handy off road parking is available on the road a few metres above the apartment. Otherwise there is a pay parking spot just outside the village.

A lot of steps need to be climbed or descended to reach the apartment. Its tiring in the warmth of the sun and requires a torch at night (bring your own, just in case) These steps would definitely be an issue for anyone with mobility problems and perhaps for older guests.

Day trips to the ancient walled city of Kotor, swImming or sailing in the beautiful waters of the bay, sun downers or lazy afternoons in waterside cafes & bars. For those that like walking there are some great hikes right on the doorstep. A few hours away are some stunning mountain monasteries & mausoleums to explore. I will share with you my favourite places to eat, shop and go for walks.

Getting there:
The nearest airport is Tivat, 20 minutes away by taxi. EasyJet flies there from Tivat. There are many airlines flying to Dubrovnik, which is an hour and half by car. Ryanair flies to the capital Podgorica which is approx 2 hours away.

Getting around:
Hiring a car is very useful to get up into the beautiful mountain roads, to lake Skadar and other places difficult to get to by bus. We don’t drive and just use a combination of local buses and taxis which are reasonable.. The beautiful walled town of Kotor with its many cafes and restaurants is 20 minutes away by bus, €1.50

Votre Quartier

The tiny settlement of Perast balances between powerful mountains and cerulean sea in the sheltered Bay of Kotor. Often Perast is described as the prettiest village in Montenegro, this historic settlement boasts a disproportionate number of Baroque churches and palazzos along its single sea-side road, as well as 2 small islets just off the coast: Ostrvo Sveti Dorde (a private monastery) and Our Lady of the Rocks (a very visitable church and museum).

The waterfront is 2 minutes’ walk away from the apartment and here are waterfront restaurants are perfect for romantic dinners. Climb into the recesses of the village and you’ll find peaceful church gardens, bougainvillea-dressed cottages,

It's a large bay rather than the seaside. So there is no sand, but instead stone jetties to sunbathe on and the water is very clear and lovely to swim in. Beaches are 25 minutes away by car. From the village square you can take a boat to the picturesque islands or to the other side of the bay where there is a lovely walk up to an almost abandoned village with a magnificent view of the bay.
