“We had a lovely week at Annes place, a stunning location out of town, we had to do a bit of pruning to see the view :) The old town is so pretty and quaint, we enjoyed some lovely meals there every night. Tip: Its Europe, when a beach is mentioned, it's actually a cemented area to lie on, not sand as we are used to in Asia - all part of the experience.”
“This is a very nice apartment with great views. However it is located up on a hill and you need to take many steps to get to it. Perast is a nice, small town in the bay of Kotor. ”
“We had a great week in Anne's lovely apartment in Perast. Anne was very communicative and helpful right from the start, and gave lots of information and tips on what to do. The apartment is situated right on the bay of Kotor, and has stunning views of the water and mountains. The kitchen was well equipped to cook food if we wanted to stay at home in the evening., so much better than being in a hotel. There were a lot of things to do, and we managed most of them, despite the weather being rather wet! Highlights were a trip to Lake Skadar to watch birds, a climb up the hillside opposite to the abandoned village, and a boat trip to the little island in the bay 'Lady of the Rocks'. Montenegro is a very beautiful country, with friendly people. I highly recommend a visit. Thank you so much Anne!”
Where is it?
The tiny settlement of Perast balances between powerful mountains and cerulean sea in the sheltered Bay of Kotor. Often Perast is described as the prettiest village in Montenegro, this historic settlement boasts a disproportionate number of Baroque churches and palazzos along its single sea-side road, as well as 2 small islets just off the coast: Ostrvo Sveti Dorde (a private monastery) and Our Lady of the Rocks (a very visitable church and museum).
The waterfront is 2 minutes’ walk away from the apartment and here are waterfront restaurants are perfect for romantic dinners. Climb into the recesses of the village and you’ll find peaceful church gardens, bougainvillea-dressed cottages,
It's a large bay rather than the seaside. So there is no sand, but instead stone jetties to sunbathe on and the water is very clear and lovely to swim in. Beaches are 25 minutes away by car. From the village square you can take a boat to the picturesque islands or to the other side of the bay where there is a lovely walk up to an almost abandoned village with a magnificent view of the bay.
