Notre maison

Fully renovated self-catering apartment in one of the oldest stone buildings on the waterfront of Kotor Bay and a stone’s throw from the medieval city of Kotor. Mimosa has 2 double / twin bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and can comfortably sleep 4. The air conditioning and bathroom underfloor heating ensure that the temperature is cool in summer & warm in winter. Its spacious terrace overlooks the bay and Kotor city. Please note that our summer rental rate is EUR 750 per week.

There is a small grocery shop about 25 metres from the apartment and Kotor city is a 10-minutre walk away and has an array of restaurants, cafes, and shops. Kotor city also has a casino and discotheque as well as fabulously preserved cathedrals, churches and museums. This self catering has the advantage of a seaside apartment with the culture and leisure activities of a city only a few minutes’ walk away.

Mimosa is listed as lakeside but is in fact on the waterfront of the Mediterranean's Adriatic Sea at the end of an 28-kilometre bay that winds land inwards between the mountains. Mimosa is across the water from Kotor City, the medieval city at the end of this bay, and about 5 metres from the terrace is Kotor Bay (there is a road that you must cross that winds its way all around the bay) where you can swim, fish, boat on Kotor's calm lake-like waters, or simply look at Kotor, especially at night with the city lights of the defence wall.

Although Montenegro lags behind northern europe in environment awareness (all the more ironic as Montenegro has declared itself an eco state) it remains of one of the world’s most beautiful bays. It is also Europe's most southern fjord and the images of mountain and sea are breathtaking.

Mimosa lies in Kotor Bay with its calm waters and warm temperature. Don't expect a beach in front of the apartment (although there are 2 tiny ones in front of Mimosa) as everyone swims from the jetties that are dotted around Kotor bay which are used as platforms for entering the water. Boats trips and water sports can be accessed from Kotor waterfront. And if you've forgotten your fishing rod, no problem, you can buy most things you need here at lower prices than in western europe.

The Boka Kotorska or Kotor Bay is stunningly beautiful and was once the world's play ground for the rich and famous. The old fishing villages that hug the bay's water are fascinating, providing many miles of driving/walking around the fjord until you reach the open Adriatic Sea. Along the Adriatic coast are more old walled towns, such as Budva, Sveti Stefan, Sutomore, Ulcinj and Croatia's beautiful city Dubrovnic, all within a few hours drive. The coastline is rugged; scenic and magical. There are a variety of small and large beaches within easy driving and, if the seaside tires, visit Montenegro’s famous mountains and Europe’s deepest canyon.
