Hi. We have a 5 y-o 16th floor apt with a view of the Huangpu and overlooking the Shanghai expo site. It is not a fancy apartment but it is clean, comfortable, convenient and central. We have a little balcony that faces south for the sun and the Lupu bridge.
The main bedroom overlooks the river as well and is simple but liveable. The other bedroom is smaller but comfortable. We have a little girl so there are a few toys n things hanging around. The sofa in the loungeroom is very sleepable and it is where guests stay. The kitchen doesn't have an oven but we do have other mod cons.
The community garden below our window has a little fishpond and people do taichi in the little square in the morning.
We live opposite the terminus of several bus routes as well within a 10-min walk of a subway line. There is a supermarket around the corner and a few restaurants in walking distance.
At present cos of the Expo construction it is a little dusty and chaotic - but it is all in a good cause.
Getting to the main areas of Shanghai from our place is very convenient.
I'm a teacher/proofeader for a large accounting firm and my wife works for a German PR company. We have a 2 yo girl, who is just gorgeous. :)
