Notre maison

The studio appartment is newly renovated with all new appliances including microwave, espresso machine, VCR, DVD, TV, computer with high-speed cable internet access. Bright and well lit appartment with balcony on the third floor overlooking a quiet street is located in central downtown residential area. The open plan (460 sq.ft.) appartment has hardwood floors, tiled bar top and plenty of mirrors. The building is elevator equipped and has a rooftop barbecue area and entertainment room. Laundry facilities are available in the building. Pets are allowed.

One of the unique North American cities with a quiet residential area in the heart of its downtown. The building is 2 blocks away from the beach and a 15 minute walk to Stanley Park. Down the street stops a $2.00 ferry boat that will take you to Granville Island, Planetarium, Science World (site of EXPO '86) and Yaletown. Granville Island offers live theater performance, arts and crafts and a local farmers market. Granville Street is an entertainment district with its many bars, clubs and movie theaters. Yaletown is a newly redesigned area of the city being developed for 2010 Winter Olympics and offers shops, restaurants and hosts the Contemporary Art Gallery. Busses for the mountain sites for 2010 Olympics stop close by. Vancouver Art Gallery is a 5 minute walk away in the middle of the shopping district on Robson Street. Downtown Vancouver is surrounded by a seawall that connects you to the largest city park in North America, the Stanley Park. From the building it is a 10 minute walk to the center of the park which offers tennis courts, outdoor and indoor swimming pool and a 9km bicycle and rollerblade seawall path. The center of the park is an old growth Pacific Northwest forest area with a myriad of wildlife including bald eagles, raccoons, skunks, squirrels and chipmunks. There are two large freshwater lakes in the park with a variety of ducks and Canada geese. Seabirds visit the beaches that separate the park from the Pacific. Stanley Park is surrounded by a seawall along which there is a scenic drive that is toured by shuttle bus or horsecarriage. The historic areas of the city (Gastown and Chinatown) are a 15 minute bus ride from the place where you will be staying.

The travel party will include me an my friend. We have known each other since the mid 1990's. We have travelled to Europe and across Western North America extensively together since then. Both of us have attended the university and there is a plenty of books on various topics available in the house.
