Notre maison

Our house was originally built in 1906 and is positioned in one of the older areas of Toronto. The home offers 3 floors of roomy living space, with a large fenced in garden in the backyard. It is located in a very friendly, established neighborhood with lots of mature trees and parks. It is is 8 minutes walking distance to the underground subway, and the trains to the downtown core takes about 20 minutes. It is situated in a great neighborhood where you can walk to all amenities during your stay.

We are a family of 3, have lived here for 6 years and have done some renovations, making it a very comfortable family home. Our family consists of Tony, who works at the University of Toronto, Christine, currently a homemaker, and James, a busy 8 year old.

The house is located within walking distance to the subway, food markets, shops, schools, restaurants, and an old fashioned movie theater. We are lucky enough to be able to walk to Roncesvalles Village, which hosts many shops and restaurants. We are close to High Park, which is Toronto's largest park (161 hectares) featuring many hiking trails, sports facilities, diverse vegetation, a beautiful lakefront, a zoo, playgrounds for children, a couple of eateries, greenhouses, picnic areas, and various events throughout the year.

Inside the home you will find it very clean and comfortable with lots of space. Our home is family friendly, and there is a new, large recreation room in the basement with lots of toys and a second television. There are 3 bedrooms, an office, and 2.5 bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed with a large bay window overlooking a tree lined street, the 2nd bedroom has a double bed, and the 3rd room has a 3/4 sized bed (plus books and toys). A fourth smaller bedroom has been converted into additional closet and storage space. Additional guests can sleep on a pull out sofa bed if needed. Our home has lots of art, antiques, vintage furniture, and natural light. There is an updated, fully equipped eat-in kitchen (we love to cook) so if you choose to cook at home you will find everything you need. Beside the kitchen is a formal dining room and a lounge/living room where you can relax, read, and watch movies. The basement hosts the laundry room with clothes washer and dryer. We have a very friendly cat, who if you prefer, can lodge elsewhere during your stay.

At the end of our street you can access the West Toronto Railpath, which runs two kilometers along a railway spur. The paved, two-lane cycling and pedestrian path goes from Dundas Street West near College Street to just north of Dupont in the Junction neighborhood. Since completion in 2009, the Railpath has earned widespread praise, won design awards and become a busy route for joggers and cyclists in the city’s west end. 2 Adult bikes and 1 child bike are available for your use.

The home is well equipped with all typical appliances: dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave, coffee maker, bread maker and toaster. We take very good care of our home and will do the same with yours.
