Notre maison

Cozy heritage home on 40' lot in downtown Kamloops BC. Tiny galley kitchen fits one cook. Ethnic, ecclectic, antique furnishings. Hardwood floors. Immaculate and well cared for. Fenced & hedged private yard. Security System.

W/D. Gas stove, gas fireplace, gas central heat. Electric space heaters for lovely downtstairs bedroom & bath--ithey're in an addition that's not yet completed. Or move spare mattress into office upstairs.

Character homes neighbourhood. Walk to everywhere--park, river, movies, theatres, grocery store, doctors, mall, library, museum, funky shops, or take public bus (eg. to Thompson Rivers University, Wildlife Park) from central bus stop 2 blocks away.

Curling rink is one block away. Small lakes for outdoor skating 20 minutes drive.

5 min. drive & still in the city, you can walk through a spectacular desert canyon where you are in total solitude and can't see anything manmade. After 30 minutes hike you will be stunned by a brown forest totally destroyed by pinebeetles. It's an eery experience to walk through a tree graveyard--but only on a calm day 'cause trees do blow down in strong winds.

View of desert hills & sagebrush country. 4 hours drive east to Rocky Mtns (Valemont). 4 hours drive west to Vancouver. 2 1/2 hours drive to 108 Mile Ranch and The Hills Spa (google them!).

Fantastic downhill/cross country skiing at Sun Peaks (google it). There is a bus that your teenagers can safely go on to go snowboarding while you check out great restaurants and cafes close by. Or take "The Big 6" -- my favourite winter walking tour of 6 city centre thrift shops.

Me and my husband are both retired. He from Saskatchewan Highways, me as educator who worked the gammut from K-gr. 12, then principal and finally teacher educator at university.

We walk, ski, curl, read and are both busy social activists. Currently husband does carpentry, I do spool knitting & paint furniture.
