Notre maison

Beautiful, two-bedroom apartment in a quiet, safe location in Phnom Penh.

This sunsplashed, airy two BR (ensuite) apartment with wraparound, spacious balcony is located in a quiet upscale Phnom Penh neighbourhood and has provided us with a wonderful home in this fascinating country for the past 10 months.

The two bedrooms have queen sized beds and are very spacious (as is the entire apartment). There are ensuite bathrooms with tubs and showers and the apartment is air-conditioned in every room. There is a large living room and dining room and wifi throughout. TV, cable, DVD, iPod player and patio furniture on the balcony for dining or relaxing.

The apartment is located on the third floor in a safe neighbourhood and is only a couple of blocks from markets, shopping and every convenience you could need to fully experience living in this fascinating capital city.

You can easily walk to the Royal Palace, National Museum, riverfront and countless restaurants, bistros, cafes and boutiques.

Our apartment is located in a wonderful part of town. Close enough to walk everywhere but in a quiet, leafy street where we rarely hear sounds of the city.

There are two supermarkets on the next block, the SOS clinic is around the corner and multiple shops, restaurants, coffee bars and spas are within five minutes reach.

The National Museum, Royal Palace and riverfront are about a 15-minute walk (or a five minute tuktuk ride) and we are right off Norodam Boulevard, which is one of the loveliest boulevards in the city, populated by embassies, luxury homes and upscale restaurants.

My husband and I are in our 50s, recently moved to Cambodia and interested in exploring home exchange with properties in other parts of the world. I am British and my husband is American and we are both professionals who pulled up roots from the corporate world in order to experience a gentle way of life in southeast Asia.

We are both former journalists and now continuing as freelance writers, as well as volunteering for NGOs in Phnom Penh.

Our primary interest in 2011 is to swap homes with someone in England (south or London) since we want to spend Christmas with my family. However, we are open to travel anywhere and looking for like-minded people who would like to experience the fascinating way of life in Cambodia. Flexible schedule. No kids (at home). No pets. No ties!
