Several years ago, Stella Canfield, an artist born in Bulgaria, and her husband Michael established a second home in the village of Barzitsa, Bulgaria. This quintessential old world village is surrounded by forest, gorgeous fields of poppies, rape, sunflowers, corn and grains, depending on the season. Welcoming villagers watch over sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, donkeys, horses and visitors. Inspiration for your art is beyond abundant, enhanced by the quiet and slow pace of village life. With the Black Sea coast just 35 minutes away, numerous interesting small cities, villages and historic sites are conveniently available to stimulate your artist's eye. Varna, the most beloved city in Bulgaria, is only 40 miles away.
Located in the quaint little village of Barzitsa, only 40 miles from Varna, the beautiful Black Sea capital of Bulgaria, among rolling hills and colorful fields, “Villa Charlotte” offers a paradise for the artist, writer and poet. Starting with the yellow green color of the rape fields in April, through the red and purple of the poppies and wild lupine in May and June and culminating with the miles of sunflowers in July and August, the feast for the soul is indescribable!.
For the painter and photographer the rustic village and its surroundings with its exceptionally beautiful light are an endless inspiration, while the quite and beautiful views of the fields must be ideal settings for the writer and the poet.

The villa consists of two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine and a very large bathroom with large shower and two sinks. It can accommodate four to six people.
“Villa Charlotte” is available for rent on a weekly or monthly basis. Price is negotiable depending on the length of the stay.
