Notre maison

Falling Down House is cantilevered out over the ocean on Tortola in the very mountainous British Virgin Islands.

We are 60 miles from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and 8 miles from the American Virgin Islands.

Falling Down House has been my winter home for 27 years (I live in Denmark in the summer).

My home offers spectacular views from every room, porch and deck—and there are five decks. The outdoor Shower in the master bedroom suite directly overlooks one of the most famous surfing breaks in the Caribbean.

The entire house has been refreshed: The two bedrooms have king size beds, and new two-phase air conditioners, if you get tired of the ocean breezes. The kitchen has new Sub-Zero and KitchenAid appliances.

A two-minute walk down the hill takes you to the village of Apple Bay. A tiny beach hotel, Sebastians, and several local restaurants dot the village. Two minutes further down the road is a five star restaurant, Sugar Mill.

A two-minute walk over the hill past my home is Long Bay, one of the Caribbean’s most famous beaches. Two local restaurants offer Oceanside dining.

The house is five minutes by car from Sopers Hole, West End.

The world comes to the British Virgin Islands: Richard Branson owns two islands here. President Obama’s first trip after leaving office was here. The greatest yachts cruise our 22 volcanic islands. And no island further than a mile from the next island.

Lots of places to explore.
