Notre maison
My apartment is a sunny and bright duplex, on the top floor of a 3 story 5 year old building with elevator and private parking. It's comfortable and nicely decorated in pastel colors. The apartment has 4 suites, an office/study room, a very large terrace, living room with adjoining dining room, a balcony and a laundry area. The kitchen is modern with major appliances. I have a washer and dryer as well.

“My family of 3 just returned from a wonderful exchange to Rio for World Cup, 2014. Aline's home was just as advertised. Very comfortable and roomy, all the appliances you would need in the kitchen (all in good working order) and very close to shopping and restaurants. The lobby staff at the condo were all friendly and helpful. We had the pleasure of meeting Aline at our home before we went to Rio. Aline is very nice and easy to work with. All in all, this was a very successful exchange.”
“Well, first of all, let me tell about the apartment (condo) and area. Magnificent! The apartment was two story with two bedrooms and two baths. It had everything I needed and then some. It even had a clothes dryer!!! It was located in a very safe area outside of Rio that allowed for peace and quite as well as quick traveling from the heart of Rio to the apartment. Clean and well organized. The owner Aline was beyond nice and accommodating. She could not do enough for me and my travel buddy. Upon my arrival, we ate at her mom's house, OMG, what a meal. If you are so lucky, you will remember forever. After that, she was so protective and made sure we were safe and comfortable. This part of HFE is what makes it so unique and life altering. I have a dear friend in Brazil that will always be in my heart. Life is good!!!”

I'm Aline (62), now retired from the City of Rio de Janeiro as an editor. I'm an avid photographer and trying to take this hobby more seriously. I currently have a small travel agency and I work out of my home.
My roomate Carla (46) is originally from Portugal, she is a Psychologist with a specialization in Family Therapy, and also has a degree in Tradicional Chinese Medicine.
I enjoy traveling whenever possible either with my family or with friends. We share the apartment with Charlie, an adorable 6 year old boxer who goes to "grandma" whenever both of us are away.
I have done several exchanges, all of them very successful.
I'm a considerate person, non smoker, who will treat your home with care and respect as I'd expect you to treat mine.

The apartment building is quiet and across the street from a park. Public transportation is just 2 blocks away as well as a super market, a gas station and a drugstore. We're only a 30 minute ride to Barra da Tijuca which is a very trendy part of Rio with several malls, movie theatres, restaurants of all sorts and fun night life. This part of town, as most of Rio, is beautifully located between the beach and the mountains and houses several lagoons and a few nature reserves which provide for an infinity of outdoor activities such as water sports, hiking and horse back riding. We're a bus ride away from the major Rio de Janeiro tourist points such as Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, Sugar Loaf Mtn., Corcovado Mtn. with the Statue of Christ, The Redeemer, and downtown Rio.
