“We spent two weeks in this beautiful home this summer. We loved every minute. The home is beautifully renovated and very comfortable. The location is like a postcard. White horses graze in the pasture, with lush greenery and flowers everywhere. The horses and dogs are very friendly. My children spent much of their free time with the horses, dogs, and rabbits. The housekeeper comes every day to feed and care for the animals, so we always had someone there to help us if we needed it. There were many things to do. We would bike on the rural roads, or take short drives to local towns for market days or to get fresh bread and pastries. Huy, a local town, has a charming square with many restaurants, bakeries, and chocolate shops. Michele was even able to arrange a tour of a neighbor’s dairy farm. If you like city activities, Brussels, with its many sites and museums is an hour drive or train ride away. We especially enjoyed the Brussels music museum. We also visited local caves and parks. Michele had many brochures, maps, and pamphlets waiting for us in the home, which gave us many ideas for our vacation. We were able to meet Frederic and Michelle and their family in Florida before we left. They are a wonderful family and we plan to see them again in the future.”

FR: Michèle's reviews
FR: As a host FR: (3)“Changing homes with Michèle and her family was somewhat weird: one hardly thinks of going to a home merely 200 kilometers from the own home. However our family very much appreciated this exchange. Michèles home is really very large, beautiful and it has all the comforts one can think of. Inside you discover and enjoy how old houses can be completely renewed and make one feel very good inside. Furthermore the immediate surroundings are very beautiful and quiet, with lots of green and nothing that disturbs the great silence. We even got to do some horseback riding in the very backyard of this house, which our children just loved. Still, some of Belgium's highlights are only a short drive away, especially in the beautiful Ardennes area. But also Europe's capital Brussels in unrealistically only one hour away from this little paradise. So whether for a longer stay of just for a few days, there's always enough to think of near Michèles home. We can really recommend this exchange partner to anyone. Coming back to our own home we found everything completely as we left it so you needn't worry at all about Michèle and her nice family.”
“We enjoyed a fabulous exchange in the Ardennes. Michele and family's 17th century farmhouse, beautifully and sympathetically restored, is just stunning. Our boys adored playing with their many dogs and riding on their horses. This is the perfect location for a family holiday. Within a short drive are a wealth of lovely towns and villages and a range of attractions that could easily have kept us occupied for a fortnight. Some ignorant people think Belgium's a bit boring - they couldn't be more wrong! We absolutely love it - so much so that we very much hope to exchange with Michele and family again at some point.”

We are a family of 6 and moved from Brussels 7 years ago. We run our own design and production company for wooden kids'school furniture and toys. We have 4 children (16, 14, 11 and 6 years old) who are bilingual French-German.
We love to travel and had 9 home exchanges so far: in NYC, Florida, London and Brugge, Amsterdam, Andorra,Paris, Arizona and Maryland/Annapolis in summer 2012. We think that this is a great way to discover different countries and people. We care a lot about other people's property (like our own) and are very tidy and respectful.
