Notre maison

We just finished building our home in Hechtel-Eksel. It is an open house with a lot of light and a lovely south-oriented garden. Our home is located in an new and quiet neighbourhood and has all the standard needs for a family: a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, a spacious living room with large flat screen and surround system, 2 separate toilets, a master bedroom with dressing, second bedroom with double bed, third bedroom for a baby and large bathroom with walking-in shower and large bath.
The home has a nice terrace in the garden where we love sitting during warm summer evenings. There is also a small BBQ, 2 miniature fountains and decorating evening lights. We have two bikes (adult) that you can use and 1 mountainbike.

We are Davy (32) and Inke (28), a married couple with one baby daughter. Davy works in Veldhoven (Netherlands)in the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry (the biggest factory that builds machines for making microchips). Inke works as a dispatcher and planner in a bus company. We both love to travel when able to get away. Davy has spent for his work many times in other countries; but we both lost our hart in America. (we are thinking to move someday to America) We visited Carmel By the sea, San Fransisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Boise, Yellow Stone, ...but the region of North America we love the most. We have not done a home exchange before but it seems nice to integrate in the normal life and not being 'the tourist'. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in Europe.

Hechtel-Eksel is a very small town in Belgium on the border of Holland. The nearest big city is Eindhoven-Holland (25 km north) or Hasselt-Belgium (20 min). Brussels and Antwerp both in Belgium are a 80 km drive. One hour drive to the East and you are in Germany. Two hours drive to the South you are in France and Amsterdam up North is about 2 hours drive from our house. You can aslo visit England. In Eindhoven you can take an one hour flight to London. So you see you have in the direct neighbourhood half Europe.
