Notre maison

Our house is very spacious, with a stunning large open kitchen and dining room leading onto a city courtyard with grass area. Over three further floors is a huge living room, master bedroom with en-suite, 2 children's bedrooms and a guest bedroom and study - lots of sleeping options. We've been renovating and all the main rooms are recently refurbished - but in good Belgian tradition there's still a couple of things still to be done when we have the time!

The kitchen and dining area on the ground floor is fully equipped with all that a family needs, recent appliances with large fridge, dishwasher, a couple of ovens. Two double French doors lead out onto a courtyard with an area of synthetic grass which is brilliant for kids playing. There is also a garage with a parking space directly in front of the house which is very handy in Brussels.

On the first floor the huge lounge has lots of seating, TV with European channels and chromecast, a lovely piano. Next is the master large double bedroom with en-suite walk-in shower room. On the second floor are two kids bedrooms with 2 and 3 beds respectively as well as a bed for a baby, and another kids room has a comfy double sofa-bed. There is a family bathroom with bath and shower, and then another double bedroom with sink on the third floor, and then a study with a double pull-out bed.

The size of the house means it's a great place to be even if the weather means you can't be outside, and it's well kitted out with toys and books for kids from 0-12 or so. We love the local area and walk with the kids to some of the local parks - either Jardin Louis Hap, or the large city parks of Cinquantenaire or Bois de la Cambre.

And then there's the rest of Brussels and Belgium to explore...

Apprenez plus sur nous-mêmes

  1. We're a fun loving and caring French/English/Belgian family with 5 kids from ages 13 to 4.

  2. Johnny is from the UK and works as a Pastor for a local Belgian protestant church, Naomi is from the South of France.

  3. We love adventures with the kids - and any sport goes down well, currently into field hockey, football and cycling - and reading a good book.

Where is it?

Votre Quartier

The house is in Etterbeek and in a residential district of the area. There is a tram stop at the top of the street, along with a supermarket and then a local shopping district with all kinds of shops 5 minutes away. There's a cool and friendly local bar on our street corner, and Place Jourdan or Place Flagey with two of the best Belgian Frites and numerous bars and restaurants are each 10 minutes walk away.

The Parc Cinquantenaire is a short walk, along with its museums, and the Parc Leopold, with the Natural History Museum and European Parliament 15 minutes on foot. You can easily get to the city centre, Grand Place and everything else by tram and metro or bus.

We love the numerous parks in Brussels, and the tram will take you out to Tervuren's African Museum and large park. And the Forest of Soignes is only a short drive.

Then of course you have Bruges, Antwerp, Gent, Leuven, Namur etc all ready for a day trip within an hour's train or car ride.

Café Or serves the best coffee, it's on Place Jourdan. Café Leopold is more comfy, by Montgomery.
Avenue Louise and Porte de Namur are close-by, or the centre of Brussels
All the national museums are not far, the Parc Royal and the Palace
Cinquantenaire, Bois de la Cambre, Tervuren...
