Notre maison
We just purchased a wonderful apartment on the beach in Belgium. Situated on the fourth floor of the most far west building on the shore, it has majestic, unobstructed 180° view of the sea, the Dune reserve as far as Dunkirk in France. The many windows make the apartment bath in light all day long. The changing colours of the sea and sky are a spectacle, in all seasons.
We are making plans to renovate. By the summer, the new windows should be in place. Kitchen and bathrooms are a bit dated in style, but clean and practical. They will be taken on next year. Two bedrooms sleep 4, two extra folding beds in living room, an extra two. There are two showers (one in bathtub) and two toilets. Kitchen is fully equipped. Two large terraces (one south-east, the other south-west, with daily views of the sun setting in the sea).
The area is ideal for walking, horseback riding and all beach activities. The apartment complex has a private pool. Culturally, the region has very much to offer. Many WWI and WWII sites and museums are close, some within walking distance. France is just a short walk away. Delicious local food is plentiful in restaurants and shops.
