2 bedroom apartment (125 sq m), with office, living room, kitchen, 2x bathrooms & terrace.
2 double beds plus a single mattress available. The apartment is quite spacious, so if you bring your own mattresses, there is room enough for other people too.
We have ADSL internet (also WiFi), cable TV and lots of CDs and books in several languages in case you want to spend some time at home
Conveniently located in the heart of the European neighbourhood, across the street from Cinquantenaire parc (good for jogging in the morning), 5 minutes away from metro/train station Schuman.
Main buildings of the European Institutions are in the area, so you might bump into Eurocrats, lobbyists, MEPs, etc. going to work in the morning or having drinks afterwards.
English is widely spoken in the shops & restaurants of the neighbourhood.
Ideas on what to do/see in Brussels? You can try:
- Grand Place: Must see. Classed World Heritage by Unesco
- Art Nouveau: Remarkable collection of buildings by Victor Horta and the like. Horta's own house is just amazing
- Royal Museums of Fine Arts: Some extraordinary Rubens and Magritte, among others
- National Army Museum: incredible indoors collection of planes
- Belgian Centre of Comics: Tintin, Lucky Luke, the Smurfs, ... were all Belgian
- Atomium: Belgian icon, souvenir of the 1958 World Exhibition
- Belgian beers: more than 1000 different brands, all with their own distinctive character
- Belgian chocolate: world famous, another of the national industries
Or catch a train and go on a day trip to:
- Bruges (1h) Medieval town, narrow streets, canals. Also Unesco World Heritage
- Louvain (25') University town since 1425. The Belgian Oxford
- Antwerp (40') One of Europe's biggest harbours, and the capital of Belgian fashion
- Paris (1h25) A real must-see, even if only for a day
- London (1h51) Direct train through the Eurotunnel, no ferries, no stop. From Bruxelles-Midi straight to the new St Pancras Station
- Amsterdam (2h30) Canals, bikes & coffee shops, a capital like no other
- Cologne (2h20) Liveliest city in Germany after Berlin
- Luxembourg (2h25) Richest and probably most boring nation in the world. A banking paradise, just like Switzerland
