Our home is an old renovated mill building situated romantically beside the River Kamp in Lower Austria. It is very spacious. There is a big terrace (60 sqm) facing east and two balconies facing south. The house is equipped with high-tech of all kinds ;-) - there is a PS2, a PS3 and a Wii, two PCs, wireless and cablebound High-Speed Internet in the whole area and a lot of TVs.
There is also a lot of sports equipment (bikes, roller blades, skateboards, swimming stuff, table tennis, big trampoline) from small children to adult seizes.
The river beside has in summer about 21° C and is around the house not very deep, so to say safe also for smaller children. But you can reach easily areas where you can swim.
Adjacent to our house lives a very nice couple, who can help you with all matters you could need.
I am 41 years old and am working in public administration in Vienna. My boys are 10 and 11 years old. We own two dogs (which will be away during your stay) and two cats, which we would ask you to care for while our absence. We already did some home exchanges (to France, Denmark, Canada) and are real fans of this kind of travelling - I think it is the best way of getting to know a country on a more "personal" way than in a hotel.
The neighbourhood is quiet and safe. You can reach the main village Gars easily by bike in five minutes - there are also the shopping facilities and the very nice public swimming. You can start walking or biking tours directly at the house. The landscape are a kind of rolling hills, very ancient formations with a lot of wood and big stones. There are a lot of castles around.
Vienna is 80 km away and can easily be reached by car (one hour) and by train (1,5 hours) also for daytrips. Also nearby (half an hour) is the famous wineregion "Wachau".
The Czech Republik is about one hour away, nearest ist the beautiful town Znojmo, Prag you can reach in four hours by car.
