Can you tempt me away from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland? Perfect climate, beautiful, safe and uncrowded golden beaches, the green and picturesque Hinterland, an hour from Brisbane.
I live in Caloundra, in a resort-style complex with two pools, two tennis courts, two barbeque areas, a playground and a small gym, less than a ten-minute stroll from the beach. The house is quite small, but it is comfortable and convenient, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and hey, who wants to spend much time indoors anyway, with all of the glorious Sunshine Coast to explore?
Children can run around safely inside the gated complex, whereas further afield there are plenty of activities such as mini-golf, ten-pin bowling and water slides. Australia Zoo is half an hour away. Plus the Ginger Factory, Buderim maze and Valley Rattler steam train. More sophisticated tastes may appreciate the numerous art galleries, craft outlets, concerts, and markets, visiting Noosa, the famous Eumundi markets and the villages in the Hinterland such as Maleny and Montville. The energetic will enjoy walking in the Glasshouse Mountains and other spectacular National Parks, besides swimming, surfing and kayaking. The food is fresh, organic and often pick-your-own. Whales swim past the beaches and dolphins play in the waves.
