Yandina The Ginger Town ( Oldest Town on the Coast )
Yandina is centrally located between the mountains and the sea. It boasts The Ginger Factory. The Spirit House Thai Restaurant and Cooking School and walk to Historic Hotel, shops and cafes. A 25min drive takes you to the tourist towns of Mapleton, Flaxton, Montville and Maleny and a 20min drive in the other direction takes you to beautiful Sunshine Coast beaches such as Noosa and Coolum, Noosa National Park and the Noosa and Maroochydore rivers, ideal for boat hire, picnics or cruises. 5mins down the road from Maroochydore are the tourist strips of Alexandra Headlands and Mooloolaba. Underwater World is located in Mooloolaba as well as plenty of patrolled beach areas to choose from. Mooloolaba caters for restaurant and cafe clientele as well as having a friendly beach boardwalk for joggers and walkers and free bbq areas right on the shoreline. 5mins north of your accommodation gets you to the world renowned Eumundi Markets which run every Wednesday and Saturday. 20min drive on the Bruce Highway and you can visit the tourist amusement place Aussie World, at the Ettamogah pub or another 20min and you are at Australia Zoo. The Sunshine Coast boasts many large shopping complexes one of which is the Sunshine Plaza with a multiple cinema complex.
Gourmet eateries, renowned art galleries, craft shops and historical pubs sit side-by-side along the wide main street. Many of the buildings in this unique town were constructed between 1890 and 1930 are fine examples of the era - including the "Discover Eumundi" building, the original bank building, the old bakery and the School of Arts (website hidden) sure to call into the Discover Eumundi museum building in the middle of town to gain a true historical perspective of Eumundi through it's eclectic collection of artifacts.
Every Saturday and Wednesday this relaxed hinterland town springs to life in the early hours of the morning, transforming into a bustling market for shoppers looking for something different.
Towering Heritage-listed fig trees rise above the 500-plus stalls and the shady walkways.

Over the years, several independent organisations, including the Eumundi and District Community Association, have also set up other market operations adjacent to The Original Eumundi Markets, making the overall Eumundi Markets now the biggest art and craft market in Australia.
Our market community has now grown to more than 600 stalls and boasts an annual visitation of 1.6 million people!
The Original Eumundi Markets continue to focus on handmade products, with the ethos of “make it, bake it, grow it, sew it”.

A car is a must as there is no public transport available. Yandina minutes away has a bus route and a train route. Ideal for the odd trip into Brisbane without the hassle of parking.
The Sunshine Coast Airport is a 20 minute drive away.
