Fremantle itself is a beautiful historic port city full of artists, musicians, pubs cafes and restaurants. It is Perth’s favoured destination for a sunny day out. It is also the departure point for the simply beautiful Rottnest island, a class A nature reserve with amazing blue/green waters and sparkling white sand beaches. Fremantle is a beachside city, on the mouth of the Swan River giving you the best experience of what life in Australia is all about, our beautiful waters and climate to enjoy it in. It is closer to the Southern Wine regions than Perth and is the departure point for Rottnest. It is therefore the ideal base for any visitor to Western Australia whilst being only an easy 30 minute train ride into the heart of Perth City. Trains run every 15 minutes.
