Notre maison

Our semi-detached Victorian home is an architecturally-designed 3 bedroom Victorian terrace. Downstairs there is an open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen, a bathroom, and two bedrooms. Upstairs there is the master bedroom and an ensuite. It's a beautiful light-filled house, one that allows the outside to flows inside with gorgeous bi-fold timber doors. There is a patio attached to the second bedroom (and private entry if needed), and a private oasis out the back . Perfect place for a unwinding or having a barbecue.
The house is on a semi-busy road but you don't hear a thing inside the house or out the back. Its also located opposite a gorgeous park (complete with a children's playground).
Also, it may be consider 'small' if you are coming from a suburban area, but its relatively big by inner-city standards.
Alexandria is arguably Sydney's best inner-city suburb, and according to Time Out its the city's next 'it' suburb. It is a stone's throw from everything, yet still retains that community, residential vibe.
The whole community gathers in Alexandria Park after work and chats over a beer. It's a great way of meeting locals from the neighbourhood.
There are about 10 cafes all within a five minute walk from our home, and two within 30 seconds! Its a short walk to Redfern train station where a 5-10 minute train ride will take you to Circular Quay or Darling Habour. There are also buses directly on the street which can take you to Bondi Junction, Coogee or the city.
Right outside my house is the main bike path heading into the city (via Surry Hills). You can ride to all the main tourist sights, and its a great way of discovering little pockets of inner Sydney.
Here are some classic Sydney tourist attractions all within 30 mins train/bus ride from Alexandria:
Bondi Beach - 9 kms
Darling Harbur - 4kms
Central Station - 3 kms
Sydney Opera House - 5kms
Coogee Beach - 7kms
Newtown dining precinct (great for foodies!) - 2 kms
Surry Hills nightlife (great for after dark) - 2kms
Sydney's international and domestic airport - 5kms

Sydney itself is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. There are so many beaches to explore, all with beautiful soft sand and crystal clear water. The harbour is breath taking regardless of what month you are here. You can ride a Sydney ferry around Sydney Harbour, explore the historic district of the Rocks, take a day trip to the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains or visit the Sydney Opera House. And that's just to name a few.

You can not help but fall in love with Sydney!
