Notre maison

Our beautiful apartment was built in 1926. It is in a quiet block four in an old mansion house. It is located in the leafy, cafe-filled, bayside Melbourne suburb of Elwood. It is 400 metres from the beach and 100m from a choice of five cafes and restaurants.

The apartment is filled with period features including tall ceilings, big cut-glass windows and original floorboards. It is a very quiet street with parking always available outside.

Both of the bedrooms are big and have queen size beds. One bedroom features a gorgeous period fireplace, large leather armchair and a desk you can work at using our wi-fi.

The lounge is full of light with a larg bay window. It has a four-seater and a two-seater sofa. The kitchen has just been updated and connects to a full size dining room with plenty of entertaining space. The bathroom is almost new and has a walk-in shower and a bath. There is a separate toilet.

The garden has a bbq and a table that seats six people. It catches the sun all afternoon. There are large windows across the back of the house so it is nice to open the door when your are cooking if people are sat outside.

The property does not have air conditioing but the walls are so thick it stays cools most of the time, unless you get a spell of 40 degrees days, which only happens once a year. If you are here in winter, we have ducted heating.

Elwood is one of Melbourne's nicest suburbs. We love walking or jogging down the beach path to St Kilda and enjoying a few drinks in the sun. If you don't fancy the walk, you can try one of Elwood's many cafes and restaurants.

There nearest train station is Elsternwick, which is a three minute drive. Otherwise, there is a bus that goes from the top of the road. The train is the quickest way into the city and takes about 15 minutes.

We love the beachy lifestyle here. You are close enough to everything but also feel like you are on holiday with the beach at the top of the road.

If you surf, some of the best breaks are a 90 minute drive down the Ocean Road. If you like wine, the vineyards are about the same distance just in the opposite direction.
