Notre maison

Our home is a modern bungalow with an open concept, fully equipped kitchen and dining area. A large family room with fire place opens on to a deck with gazebo and comfortable lounging chairs and a gas BBQ. The house is equipped with automatic dish washer, washing machine and drier. A large bath-room is located on the main floor and another bath-room with shower is located in the basement area.

Our home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in the historic town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, within an easy walking distance of the centre of town, with many restaurants, shops and the famous Shaw Festival Theatre. We are located just 5 blocks from Lake Ontario and the oldest golf club in North America. The town is surrounded by fruit orchards,
vineyards and numerous wineries, many of which can be reached by an easy bike ride. We offer free bicycles. A beautiful, scenic bike trail follows the Niagara River from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie for a total distance of 55 Km. Niagara Falls is just 15 Km from here. The town is situated at the mouth of the Niagara River where it flows into Lake Ontario. You can see some of the attractions of this area by logging on to the Chamber of Commerce web site,
www.niagaraonthelake.com where you can find information about the Shaw Festival Theatre which has a theatre season from May until October and offers the best of live theatre in three three theatres ,matinee and evening performances. The town and surrounding area is a popular destination for travellers from all the world.

We are a retired couple that grew up in this area. Our three children and grandchildren are
married and live a 2-hour drive from here. Henry retired from 33 years of teaching secondary school Science and Irene is a retired municipal secretary. We enyoy travelling, cycling , tennis and cross-contry skiing. We spent 3 years in Ghana, West Africa ,where Henry trained science teachers at the Ghana University of Education under the Canadian Government aid programme(CIDA).We can both speak German
