Notre maison

150 m2 flat in a 3 unit well kept 1950’s building. The apartment has 6 large rooms with lots of windows and natural light. There are many mature trees and flower gardens around the building. The flat has:
- 2 bedrooms (one with a queen size bed and air conditioning and the other with a double bed and a balcony);
- an office (computer, high speed internet access, CD player – we could also add a single bed if you wish);
- a fully equipped kitchen (electric stove, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, espresso machine, etc.);
- a dining room for 6;
- a living room (cable TV, DVD, VHS, CD player);
- finally, a laundry room (washer and dryer), a full bathroom and a powder room).
One of the bedrooms has air conditioning and the other rooms have fans.

The neighbours are friendly but discreet and the ones who live in the building will be more than happy to answer your questions. You will also find many guides about our region in our home.

We can leave you our car, a Toyota Yaris 5 place sedan (2008/17 000 km) and our 2 bicycles (there are many bicycle paths in the area and farther off – we also have a bicycle rack that can be attached to the car).

We have a small dog that will be away with friends.

Our flat is in the small town of St. Lambert, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence river (3 blocks from home), 10 minutes from downtown Montreal. St. Lambert is known for its charm, its quietness, its green spaces and the pretty boutiques on the town’s main street. You will find, amongst others, bakeries, a cheese store, a butcher shop, chocolate and ice cream shops, a grocery store and many restaurants.

If you wish we can leave you our car. From our home, downtown Montreal is also very easily and quickly accessible by public transport (bus, subway) and there is a very good bicycle path network (to go cycling downtown or in the nature). We will leave 2 bicycles and a bicycle rack that can easily be installed on the car.

Walking paths and hiking trails in the nature – in the forest and at the mountain, in the Montérégie region, are 15 minutes away. The Eastern Townships and Laurentian regions are close by (from 45 min. by car, according to your destination). We are: 2h from Ottawa; 2h30 from Quebec city; 6h from Toronto and 7h from New York city (7h by car or bus; 11h by train from the St. Lambert train station).

We are 2 adults in our mid-forties : Charlotte works in the cultural field and Michèle in a social research centre.

We are curious, interested by history, different cultures, food and cuisines, architecture, arts, music, are passionate about reading and love laughing in good company.

Our first language is French, we are fluent in English and Michèle speaks Spanish.

Presently, we are looking to exchange our apartment for a period of 3 weeks in july 2010, somewhere between June 26th and August 1st.

Paris would be our first choice, bus WE WILL TAKE ALL OTHER OFFERS INTO CONSIDERATION.

If our destination is a large city, we don’t need to have the use of a car: we will be perfectly content to stay in the city for the whole time of our vacation, using public transport and walking to get around. In such a case, we would still gladly leave you our car.
