Notre maison

Our home is a Victorian period house, replete with high ceilings, polished wooden floors, fireplaces, ceiling rosettes and cornices with kookaburra motifs.
Our kitchen and bathroom have been renovated with flair. There is an outdoor deck with built in bar-b-q. The garden grows vegetables in three large oval tubs. Pick some silverbeet, rocket and basil for your salad. Then a lime, passion fruit, blueberry and raspberry for desert. We dare you to pluck the highest nectarine (ladder provided).
Within one minute's walk, west along Charles street, you are doing yin yoga with Mark (who used to be a builder), then have breakfast by strolling with your rolled at under your arm to 1903, a new family run cafe with robust breakfasts. Huge green outdoors and sandpit for the munchkins. Toddle up to a renowned vintage clothes shop(local theatre and movie costume designer frequents here).
Turn left onto Gamon street and walk five minutes to Sedonia- a wonderful eclectic shop with clothing, quirky games to entertain the kids, Melbourne stamped souvenirs for the discerning traveller like you.
More coffee? Keep walking South and look for the rented prestige cars. To the left is a cafe with a garage theme.
You can turn for home and loiter in the toddlers playground or continue ten minutes to Yarraville's Art Deco cinema, (Ballarat street), buy a book at the Sun bookshop next door, shop for funky clothing and vintage toys at Icon (East on Anderson) and walk back home. Collect a newspaper from the Greek owned shop on Victoria st, collect plum croissants from the Sourdough kitchen ("stroller moms" welcome), turn right at Pilgrim street and spot the suburban Mona Castle pub for tea.
Plan to travel only five train stations to the city. Seddon and Middle Footscray - take your pick.
Fancy Thai, Malaysian, Chinese, Spanish, Japanese? Charles street. Fancy Asian? Hopkins street, Footscray (Sapa hills) and a family friendly Hong Kong barbecue close by. The weekend markets at Footscray are a eye opener and walk to find Nic's doughnuts in a black van on the east side of the train station.
Walk home past Ethiopian restaurants and watch the AFL on TV at home.
Our home is perfect for privacy and to rest. Our location is rife for exploring and getting quickly to see city events by train.
